After completing her Fine Art studies in Exeter and Bristol in the mid 80’s, Caroline moved to Cornwall to embark on her artistic career, eventually settling in her own studio in the artistic community of St Ives.
She combined this with catering and travel, taking her to many places in the world. Consequently, her work is in collections in Japan, throughout Europe, India, New Zealand, New York and California.
She creates her distinctive style with texture and interest using knife with a limited yet vibrant palette, driven by the desire to capture the stunning local environment , life and quality of light in paint. She strives to create not just how somewhere looks but more how it feels to stand in awe and convey a sense of place, peace and time to the viewer.
Thanks to her A Level teacher at school, she has a strong eye for colour and composition, aiming to express the excitement and emotional reaction to seeing somewhere beautiful for the first time.
Her work soon caught the eye of other galleries, showing regularly in Battersea, Putney, St Ives, The Lake District and North Wales.
Agencies distribute prints of her work worldwide and nationally to well-known homestores.
More recently, Caroline has relocated back to her beloved home county of Devon, swapping seascapes for estuary and moorland scenes.
There is nothing more enjoyable than exploring the glorious landscape for subjects, armed with a camera and a cheese and tomato sandwich.
Freshly inspired by her new home she is now creating new pieces for prestigious galleries and other outlets in the area.
